Abstract
Flooding is one of the phenomena that frequently occurs in the Pondok Gede Permai Residential Area. The existing drainage system in Pondok Gede Permai is not yet able to convey stormwater runoff optimally. This condition is caused by the limited capacity of the drainage channels, sedimentation in several channel segments, and the high percentage of built-up land cover that increases surface runoff. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing a polder system in the Pondok Gede Permai Residential Area on flood inundation within the area. The drainage system simulation of Pondok Gede Permai was conducted under three conditions, namely the existing condition, Scenario 1 with the addition of two polders with capacities of 2,823 m³ and 4,600 m³, and Scenario 2 with the addition of two polders with capacities of 2,823 m³ and 4,600 m³ along with an increase in the outlet pump capacity of the Pondok Gede Permai drainage system. The simulation was carried out using EPA SWMM software. The simulation results for the existing condition show that flooding still occurs at six points, namely JI (3.152 × 10³ m³), JZ (0.004 × 10³ m³), JAK (0.601 × 10³ m³), JAS (0.608 × 10³ m³), JAW (2.394 × 10³ m³), and JBU (0.05 × 10³ m³). The addition of two polders with capacities of 2,823 m³ and 4,600 m³ in Scenario 1 still results in flooding at two points, namely JI (1.653 × 10³ m³) and JAK (0.207 × 10³ m³). The simulation results of Scenario 2, which includes the addition of two polders with capacities of 2,823 m³ and 4,600 m³ and an increase in the capacity of pump 1 and pump 3 to 0.2 m³/s and 0.5 m³/s, respectively, indicate that no flooding occurs in the Pondok Gede Permai Residential Area. From the three scenarios analyzed, the implementation of polders combined with an increase in the outlet pump capacity is able to eliminate flood inundation in the Pondok Gede Permai Residential Area.
