Abstract
ABSTRACT The signalized intersection of Jalan Ibrahim Adjie – Jalan Terusan Jakarta is one of the congestion points in Bandung, experiencing high delays and long queues. This study aims to analyze the intersection's performance using the Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) 2023, identify factors affecting its performance, and propose improvement recommendations. The analysis results indicate that the existing condition has a low level of service, especially in the North and East approaches, with high delays and near-saturated capacity. The main factors affecting the intersection's performance include high traffic volume, suboptimal signal timing, limited intersection geometry, and road user behavior. After implementing an alternative improvement with signal timing optimization and intersection capacity adjustments, performance improved with reduced delays and vehicle queues in several approaches. However, further evaluation is needed to ensure the long-term effectiveness of these improvements. With this optimization, the intersection is expected to function more efficiently and enhance traffic flow in the area.
